Growing Future Leaders

Recruitment, development and retention of exceptional candidates to serve as school/system administrative leaders are significant issues across the country. Providing opportunities for classroom teachers to see themselves as true leaders of their own classroom systems is crucial in the establishment of learning cultures of high performance in the classroom. To begin to meet this need, the Partnership for Excellence has developed The GROWING FUTURE LEADERS program. It is offered as a service through North Carolina's Regional Education Service Agencies. Participants are selected at the local school system level and then participate in a year-long program which highlights training in the High Performance Model, as well as exposure to various recognized education leaders.

For the 2009-2010 school year, the Growing Future Leaders program is being hosted by the Central Carolina Center lead by Dr. Lawrence Walker in Durham NC and by the Southeast Education Alliance lead by Dr. Linda Lowe in Kenansville, NC.
